Ashley Van Valkenburgh joined the firm in 2005. Her practice focuses mainly
on residential and commercial real estate, but she is also active in our
business and commercial department. Her real estate experience includes
representation of residential and commercial purchasers and sellers,
landlords, tenants, real estate developers, including condominium declarants,
lenders and various corporate entities. Ashley also has experience in range
of corporate matters including formation of various entities, acquisitions
and sales of businesses, commercial financing transactions, and New York and
Connecticut state liquor licenses.
Ashley also uses
her legal background to assist day laborers in Stamford, Connecticut at the
Connecticut Legal Service’s Day Laborer Wage Clinic on a pro-bono basis.
Ashley graduated
from Brooklyn Law School in 2005, where she spent much time representing and
advocating for victims of domestic violence and political refugees. She was a
recipient of a Brooklyn Law Students for the Public Interest fellowship for the
summer of 2004, and was recognized by the school for her commitment to public
interest law. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Latin
American Studies from the University of Virginia in 1998.
Ashley is admitted
to practice in Connecticut and New York.
